Burnt Chimney Elementary is the one of largest of the twelve elementary
schools in the division and serves a diverse population. Approximately 326 students
are served in preschool, kindergarten, and grades 1-5.

All primary classes are self-contained and heterogeneously grouped to
enhance the education of each child. Grades 4 and 5 are departmentalized
which means that your child will have more than one teacher for the five subjects.
Support personnel provide special services including library, guidance, physical
education, speech, art, music, computers, gifted education, and special services.
Faculty, staff, and administration incorporate a teamwork approach in assisting
each child in his/her educational development. Expectations are high with
assistance and care that all students find success.
